Business overview per Business Area:

We are a boutique label working with some of the UK’s best storytelling talent. Our current productions include: Spy Among Friends, Alex Carey’s adaptation of Ben Mcintyre’s non-fiction account of the life of Kim Philby, starring Damian Lewis; Ralph and Katie, a comedy drama written by Peter Bowker alongside five emerging disabled writers about the early days of marriage for a couple with Down’s syndrome; People vs Post Office by Gwyneth Hughes, a four-part drama about the Post Office Horizon Scandal for ITV; and a yet-to-be-announced four-part factual drama for ITV. We have numerous projects at various stages of development and are looking for someone to join our small but growing team to assist primarily in the development of our factual drama slate.

This role entails…

  • To carry out extensive, detailed and accurate research for a number of factual dramas currently on our slate.
  • To provide ongoing research for People Vs Post Office during the script development and production process. Alongside this, to conduct development research for several true-life dramas yet to be announced.
  • On occasion, to assist writers and Development Producers with research for fictional dramas. Also on occasion, to research industry-related topics on behalf of the development team.

To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:

Minimum role criteria:

  • Creatively driven with the ability to communicate information convincingly and a determination to work collaboratively to deliver a good story.
  • Evidence of accurate fact checking and research skills. Demonstrated by previous experience and/or relevant qualification.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Skilled at dealing sensitively and professionally with a wide range of external contributors and talent.

The Key role criteria is as follows:

  • An interest in, and passion for, television drama and factual drama in particular.
  • Good understanding of factual drama demonstrated by experience of either similar show or comparable experience.
  • Proactive in building working relationships and a network of contacts to aid programme research.
  • Organised and deadline-focussed approach to managing workload and conciseness/attention to detail when presenting any written research notes or programme information/logs.
  • Enthusiasm and resilience with the ability to maintain performance levels in the face of ever-changing priorities, workload and challenging situations.
  • A background in research, factual programme, or journalism is desirable but not essential
