ITV are looking for an experienced Test & Release Manager to work in our Commercial Technology team. This is a newly created position and you will be joining at an exciting time where you can help shape the testing and QA process as we transition from a traditional testing model. This a purely Managerial role, and will involve responsibility for up-to 6 off and on-shore Testers who make 3+ releases a year of Landmark, a broadcasting system sales package.
Responsibilities
The Test Release Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Managing and coordinating the release process for systems upgrades of Landmark, a 3rd party software, across the ATS applications, 3rd parties and in-house development teams.
- Running a small ATS Testing team, to manage and deliver all aspects of test needed to deliver new capability to the business, rapidly and safely. Testing currently includes system testing, integration testing, performance testing and final User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Managing and coordinating automated testing approach and activity across all ATS applications, products and systems, driving adoption and delivering quality improvements.
- Ensuring that automated regression and performance tests suites are updated as part of each test cycle.
- Ensuring that any blockers to testing progress are pushed back to the relevant teams and/or third parties and/or escalated as required
- Work with the ATS operations team, ATS development teams and 3rd parties to ensure that all environments are ready for the different testing activities
- Working with Business teams to coordinate UAT
- Working with development and operations teams to coordinate releases to production
- Working with ITV analysts and 3rd party engineering staff where possible to add value at early stages of the overall development lifecycle i.e during requirements definition, solution design, and development/QA.
- Status reporting on testing progress to management and business
- Lead the ATS testing capability, ensuring performance is actively managed, work is prioritised effectively, individual/ team objectives are consistently allocated & achieved & team members are developed in line with the requirements of their roles including their personal development aspirations.
Experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Extensive testing and test framework experience
- Extensive experience working on complex Technology & Business programmes with multiple delivery streams and systems
- Experience of managing multiple test teams
- Experience of working with all levels of management throughout an organisation
- Extensive experience working with test tools including automation and performance test tools such as Test Complete, Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server
- Experience working with matrix of waterfall development and agile delivery based teams
- Experience working collaboratively with third party suppliers
- Experience working with onshore and offshore testing teams
- Broadcast and media and advertising systems experience would be advantageous
