Business overview per Business Area:
The Core Ad Tech and Operations Team are responsible for the applications that support the selling and transmitting of adverts on ITV’s broadcast channels and are looking for a Test Manager who can help grow our testing services, drive improvement and build our testing capability.
The media industry is changing significantly and rapidly with new technology, new players and new opportunities for advertising. This is driving new work for the team as we adapt and develop to meet new demands. The Core Ad Tech and Operations team needs to be flexible, agile and innovative to deliver technology change while at the same time maintaining the highest level of quality to support the large revenues from advertising. The role of the test manager is crucial to ensure we are managing and using our people effectively, are driving efficiency through automation, using external help where suitable or necessary and maintaining quality.
There are a large number of applications which the Core Ad Tech and Operations team develop and maintain, and these applications are critical to the day to day operations of ITV. The Test Manager will focus on one of the key applications which underpins the business workflow and will work across the full end to end test cycle managing a third party which provides testing services. The Test Manager will also be working across other teams and applications as required to deliver integration testing.
This role entails…
You’ll liaise with internal stakeholders to agree on a testing strategy framework, a testing plan and manage our relationship with third party suppliers. As a hands-on manager, you’ll ensure that the entry criteria into each test phase is complete and manage the successful exit from each phase. You’ll also provide status reports and deal with any issues that have been escalated. Importantly, you’ll also ensure we are meeting our agreed project plans and timelines, while always complying with legal, ethical and industry regulations.
To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:
Minimum role criteria:
-
A relevant IT related degree or 10+ years in a Senior Test Role
-
Manage Test progress, including assigning work, monitoring progress and providing feedback to Senior Leadership.

Understand and support the needs/mind-set of a range of roles from key senior business stakeholders through to technical individuals

Hands-on experience of testing, test automation and methodology, implementation and able to Identify and recommend improvements to Testing processes and practices

Drive the development and maintenance of automation frameworks and scripts

Experience in managing supplier relationships

Have a strong understanding of the benefits of test engineering and appreciation of the different tool sets available to support automation and performance

The Key role criteria is as follows:

Strong background in the use and implementation of Functional and Non-Functional test tools, techniques, principles and methodologies in agile and waterfall delivery.

Proven experience of creating and implementing an Automation Test Strategy, its appropriateness and limitations

Working knowledge of Test Management tools

Hands-on experience of testing, test automation and methodology implementation

Extensive experience of defining and implementing waterfall, agile testing approaches

Strong communication, influencing, managing and negotiating skills with Key Stakeholders and third parties
